Sunday chatter

Hello and happy Sunday everyone! Today I will talk about a lovely cake I made and just talk about the random things floating around my head, plus the kids :)

The Cake!
Its a Caramel Pudding Cake! It's ingredients are what you usually have in the pantry so it was fairly simple.

1 cup butter
3 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup milk
3 cups boiling water

1. Cream butter and granulated sugar.
2. Add flower, baking powder and salt.
3.Stir in milk and mix until smooth.
4.Spread into greased 9x13-inch pan.
5.Boil water and dissolve brown sugar(add in 1-2 tablespoons of butter for a stronger caramel flavor). Pour over batter.
6.Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.

Be very careful when putting the cake in the oven because the liquid mixture easily sloshes over the edge.
After baking it is a yummy cake that everyone can enjoy.
What it looks like fresh from the oven. I suggest waiting for it to cool and the caramel sauce to set a little. Goes great with some vanilla bean ice cream :)

Okay! Next topic! Kids! Saria is in a phase where she is always right and her imaginary friend is quite the trouble maker. I personally am not a fan of her little friend. He lives in her closet and moves things around the house. According to her, he is not very fond of me. I am unsure of his name because she isn't allowed to tell me or say it out loud. He honestly gives me the creeps.
Drake keeps battling an illness. As soon as he is better he gets sick again. I will spare the dirty details but everything I am concerned about just about everyone tells me its no big deal. He is having tummy troubles, not really gaining weight (probably because of the tummy troubles) and his breath. His breath has a fruity nail polish remover scent or like a bad fruit on the bottom yogurt a good portion of the time. I will get to the bottom of it all. Overall though he is fairly happy.

Random thoughts in my head. I really want to go back to school. I want to work for the USGS or ISGS. I love the world of Geophysics. Why can't my local university have a decent program for it? Why can't I find into classes for online schools? *insert whiny sob*

Well thanks for checking in today! Have a wonderful day!

October 15

I apologize in advance for the spelling and grammar issues this post will have. We did not sleep very well last night.
So this weekend was a fairly good one! On Saturday we went to Glenn's Ferry for a wedding and we had a pretty good time! It is so beautiful down there, but the wind was insane! I made the mistake of wearing a dress. Every time I was outside I had to hold it down! Saria had a blast playing with kids her age and Drake loved all the ladies talking to him. He LOVES attention.
Both Friday and Saturday night Drake slept though the night and it was GLORIOUS! It was so nice not having to get up two or three times to nurse him. But Sunday night he decided to get up at midnight to eat and then two in the morning was a good time to play but the play had to be in my lap. Me being so kind (Not wanting to wake up Doug and Saria) I obliged and kept him busy. He fell back asleep a little after five in the morning.Saria made sure to wake us up at seven.

Saria loved it here

He was crazy for crackers

That is all for now. I will check back in soon.

Lately in the hustle and bussel of things moving so quickly before me I find myself slightly zoned out. Day dreaming about what I had dreamed the night before or secret wishes of mine that I hide from others.
It's one of those things that you sit and think, "Wouldn't it be cool if this happened". But it is also one of those things that are better off left for the dreams.

If I chased after all the dreams I have, I know in the moment I would be happy and love it all.... But after it was over, whether or not I achieved it, was successful or a flop... I would be upset. It's the thrill of the chase and hunt. The end is what I dislike.

I will go ahead and give an example. I have been having a dream rather frequently that I opened up a bakery and lived above it with my family. I love to bake, but the travel to get to a culinary school would not be good for the family. Also living above a bakery? It may smell great but it would ruin sweets for us I am sure.

Some dreams are meant to stay just that. Dreams.

Now off to work on packing more things. Only have 10 days left until we move to our new place, which means 9 days left to pack it all up!

It's Friday!

So I promised I would post some pictures for everyone but I got caught up in life a little bit. For that I apologize.
We are in the works of packing and preparing for a move. So excited! Now to post some pictures! The quality of the pictures are not very great due to them being from my phone... But one day I will have a DSLR! Hope you all have a terrific Friday!
OK Picture above is from our wedding!

Ignore the messy bed but Drake loves his bath time!

Drake makes a handsome farmer!
